You Remember Me?
|
Beautiful dawn - lights up the shore for me.
There is nothing else in the world,
I'd rather wake up and see (with you).
Beautiful dawn - I'm just chasing time again.
Thought I would die a lonely man, in endless night.
But now I'm high; running wild among all the stars above.
Sometimes it's hard to believe you remember me.
Beautiful dawn - melt with the stars again.
Do you remember the day when my journey began?
Will you remember the end (of time)?
Beautiful dawn - You're just blowing my mind again.
Thought I was born to endless night, until you shine.
High; running wild among all the stars above.
Sometimes it's hard to believe you remember me.
High---- James Blunt

Ashes
|
The feelings unexpressed
Turn into a raging fire
And eat up everything
Perhaps it is in my fate
To burn from inside
And then
To be reborn from the ashes.

Saqib Malik
|
Well, I wouldn't be wrong at all if i say that this man has a knack of giving most extraordinary music videos of our era. He is one of the most settled directors of the Pakistan music industry, and has shown immense maturity with time, even when each and every video of his was taken as a trendsetter for the other emerging directors of the industry. The most amazing thing about Saqib is that he has shown great grip on his work right from the very first video that got attention i.e. Mr. Fraudiay by Awaz. Considering a man who has seen the industry grow and prosper all the way from that time, you can naturally expect great things from him now. But this is his speciality that his work has been at the top right from the start. Mr Fradiay was a milestone for Saqib Malik, and it also emphasized the need of a music video for a song that is sure to be a hit.
A man who has seen our music video directors all the way through would certainly give anything in the world to direct a video like Khamaj. Khamaj is the video that almost all the directors today accept as the best ever made video. It indeed is a short film, absolutely perfect in all proportions, whether it be story outline, scene flow and the relevance to the song. Imagine a director who would cast Shaan and Zaara Shiekh in a video that we know as his second. Yes, there was a huge gap between Mr Fraudiay and Khamaj, during which Saqib must have worked on his technique and skills, for the effect of that can be seen clearly in Khmaj.
Although Saqib decided to do only one video in a year, yet we had not forgotten the effect of Khmaj when he dazzled us by Na re Na........ Na re Na shows superb control and command of this man on his work, and that his imagination is beyond. The way Saqib he has shown everything happening quite wrong until Ali is supposed to be dying, and then everything good and the way it’s supposed to be when Ali is getting his life back is amazing. Although the concept of visions during operations and such life and death relating times is quite old, yet Saqib picturized these vision with such superiority over the camera that it undeniably proved to be the best video of the year.
Talking about work on the other side of the border, Saqib has done quite a remarkable job with Salman ahmed, Ghoom Taana. The story outline of the video is pretty old and worn out to an extent, but no other director had worked with Indian actors before, so Ghoom Taana is the first video, made with a kind of cooperation between the artists of both the countries.

Imran Khan's Rally
|
Today was a busy day. I submitted forms for NIC at NADRA office. It was rather fun; I thought I'd have to stand in a long queue and then get forms and then fill them and then paste photographs and bla bla bla..... But fortunately system has changed a lot. They just wanted to know if I had a card already, then they wanted some document to prove my date of birth, ID cards of my Mom and Dad, and that's it. They took my pic there, which unexpectedly looked well. But the real story was when I was coming back from NADRA office, I saw Imran Khan's rally. I knew he was going to come today in my city, and honestly wasn't excited at all. Infact I knew that he was basically coming to address the Bar Association, and Dad even asked me that if I wanted to meet him or something he would just have to make a call. But I really needed my ID card, so I didn't go there.
But on my way back when I saw his rally, I thought it was foolish not to see him then. I took out my cell phone and went near his car. The security was damn strict, and cops were not allowing people to come near his car. But I wonder whether they had seen me getting out of my car, because my Baleno has "neeli batti" on it, so they might have known that my father was Session Judge. Or they saw my making his video with my cell phone and thought I was a photographer or something. Anyways I was right on top of his car, and he was waving at the people. And when I was just going to stop, he suddenly bent down to shake hands with people. I shook hands showing all my teeth to him, just then a big push came from my back and people fought to shake hands with him as if I wasn't in the way at all. It was terrible. Just when I was about to be squashed, Imran pushed back his hand and I came back to my senses. I ran from there like mad.
Everybody at home laughed at me when they saw the video, just my younger sister saw it with her eyes wide open because she loves cricket. It was a cool experience. And I'm sure many of my friends will be excited to see it too.

Catherine Linton
|
She was the most winning thing that ever brought sunshine into a desolate house - a real beauty in face - with the Earnshw's handsome dark eyes, but Linton's fair skin and small features, and yellow curling hair. Her spirit was high though not rough, and qualified by a heart, sensitive and lively to excess in its affections. That capacity for intense attachments reminded me of her mother; still she did not resemble her; for she could be soft and mild as a dove, and she had a gentle voice, and pensive expression. her anger was never furious, her love never fierce, it was deep and tender.
My favourite lines from the novel "Wuthering Heights" by the one and only Emily Bronte.
